Retail sales monitor The NPD
Group says U.S. PC video game sales sank 14 percent in 2005 to under $1 billion
Hot on the heels of reporting
2005 was a record year for portable video game sales in the U.S., the NPD Group said today that domestic sales of CD-ROM video
games for PCs slumped by 14 percent compared to 2004, to a total of just $953 million. Overall sales volume came to 38 million
units, a 19 percent decline from the 47 million units sold in 2004. The decline came as online gaming grew in popularity,
with Blizzard Entertainment's massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft selling nearly 1 million units
alone. Other big hits were EA's The Sims 2: University Expansion Pack (574,000 sold), and The Sims 2 (559,000 sold). NPD
points to growing online game play as the major source of decline, noting that an increasing number of games have no so-called
"retail box" to be purchased: players instead download necessary software using broadband Internet connections rather than
purchasing software and installation materials via retailers. NPD analyst Anita Frazier says that, despite diminishing retail
sales in recent years, game-playing on PCs is actually increasing.

The SC staff were filled with excitement earlier today, as the spot every mod wants was open. That's right,
a spot for the staff forum was open. Many mods were talking of who will get the spot, but it turns out that Zelda Fan has
kept his spot, due to another misunderstanding.

I may not be a reporter on this,
but this is urgent news, the totally famous, Aeshma, the super mod we have all come to love, has changed his avatar! This
may not be BIG news, but the famouos avatar has been changed to an... angry looking dog! Well I guess he has now clutched
the title of, "Mad Dog".
In other news, those who are more frequently on the G&A forum, have realized that the
comic Aeshma makes is back in busines. The comic is called, "Double Dragon Aeshma". It focuses on the beating, fighting, and
torturing of those who have spammed and flamed on SC. Long, long ago, Aeshma made people attack Justin and now, it just may
be our very own Gogobananas. Some people may oppose to this, but Rich seems to like it himself, so the series will continue.

PS3's 2006 game lineup updated
The PlayStation 3 is supposed to come out this year, but its projected
lineup for 2006 is a bit on the thin side. However, third-party publishers are starting to announce their contributions for
the year little by little.
The latest issue of Famitsu reveals that Japanese game publisher Success has scheduled
to release both of its PS3 games before the end of the calendar year. One is a yet-to-be-named role-playing game, and the
other is a simulation game named Hitsuji Mura (Sheep Village). Both games were already announced at 2005's Tokyo Game Show,
but their release dates were given the mysterious "To Be Announced" label.
While there are already 71 publishers making
102 games for the PS3, most of the games still carry TBA release dates. With Success' pair added to the list of 2006 hopefuls,
there are still only eight titles slated for this year. Koei is the only company that's announced titles for release this
spring, when the PS3 may launch in Japan.

Welcome to the second issue! It has taken me awhile to make a second issue due to the fact
that I have been busy with other projects. I was happy with the response to the first issue, but I still feel we could have
had a better response. Now let’s hope that this article draws a better response than the first. I’ve seen quite
a few new fan fictions and roleplays. I’d just like to remind you all that you can advertise your fan fictions here,
as quite a few of you have done already. But you may also advertise your role plays so that might help you attract more members

notes: I have recently written a new series, (HOPEFULLY definite this time) Super Mario: Alliance of Darkness. It is about

of this! Anyways, moving along please not that you must provide a little summary as I have done with mine and if there are

EXPLANATIONS:
This is
the section in which I take the time to explain things to you. Great aren’t I? Anyways, back to the point. Last issue
we discussed things like LOL and other computer slang. It was not in any way something specifically to do with FF&RP but
on the internet, you’ll encounter it. And most defiantly, you’re going to eventually find one reviewer of a fan
fiction saying LOL or something. Anyway in this issue I will explain something very specific to FF&RP; The difference
between ORIGINAL and FAN.
Ok this question is brought up so many times by new members to the forum or old members coming
to FF&RP for the first time that if I had a dollar for every time I heard it, I’d have maybe $100 and well in dollars
not that much, but 100 times explaining it? Not healthy I assure you. Ok the main issue is that many people just take a story
as a story and don’t realize that there is a very big difference between FAN fiction and ORIGINAL fiction.
Let’s
do a case study:
ORIGINAL:
Soul Eater: Dark Days
Ok. This is one of my completed stories. This story
some of you readers shall be familiar with, if not then I suggest you view some of the later pages and find it, as of this
date(check post date on my post) it was around page two or three, so keep that in mind. Now an original fiction in my opinion
is a lot harder to make. In an original fiction you must like a fan fiction; make up a plot, however is gets much harder from
there on in. The characters and the planet are made up by you. You make up the weapons and basically you MAKE the story from
SCRATCH. You work off nothing bar your own imagination. However some get ideas from other stories but as long as they don’t
make reference to something already made it is very original. If the thing they may or may not have made reference to is a
vampire of a cowboy for example, that is acceptable. The thing that will take your story of the ‘ORIGINAL’ list
would be the inclusion of Pokemon like Pikachu or possibly Ash Ketchum etc. In other words the inclusion of somebody else’s’
idea. So if you were to have a high school setting but for example Pokemon taking part, it still would not be original as
well Pokemon aren’t your creation(Unless Nintendo are reading this…..)
Super Mario: Alliance of Darkness
Ok.
This story is an in progress made my friend named F-Zone360. Zone has had a history of all things Mario and very few of his
fictions have strayed from Mario. Their have been some stories but all in all they all featured characters made by Nintendo.
Some of you may ask why this is considered a ‘FAN’ fiction. And no…. it is not because he is a fan of Nintendo,
although that’s a minor reason in retrospect. What makes his a fan fiction is that fact that despite the inclusion of
a few original characters such as his villain ‘Trace’ who by the way is not Trace from metroid. The main thing
is that it stars Mario and his companions as well as his enemies. Some of you may still not be entirely convinced and ask
yourselves and this article…. Why is it a fan fiction? Alliance of Darkness isn’t any Mario game I know of. Trace
isn’t a Mario character OR a Nintendo character! I just don’t get it…. Why? Well the answer is simple. To
put it in simpler terms, because the story features Mario and/or is based around him or anything made by another company such
as Nintendo or Square Enix. If I had a story about a guy named Bill who fought cowboys it would be original. But if Bill fought
Koopas or if he fought Seymour from Final Fantasy X, it would instantly revert to a fan fiction. There are some slight exceptions.
I’m not to be sure if all agree with this to be totally honest, but if he had to fight Seymour in for instance a comedy
or something and it was only one small part of the story, it wouldn’t necessarily become a fan fiction.
Ok, that
was all for the definitions and explanations article. I hope it cleared things up for you. More next time, either you request
them or I pick them… quite frankly you know what the sane choice is… or don’t you? Ok, pick them yourself
and tell me! That’s the sane choice!
ARTICLE:
Ok welcome to the article section. I should put forward
my views and my handy hints on what makes a good start up chapter. And what makes a reader press the ‘back’ button
before even bothering to read your story.
Last time we explored what made a good prologue. Now people know the history
behind your story and hopefully are intrigued to see the actual story. Now an awesome prologue and a craptastic first chapter?
DO NOT go there.
Ok now this is the FIRST chapter so it is quite a significant part in your story. Unlike the last
issue, I’m not going to write a whole first chapter that’s pretty basic and uninteresting and then well write
an awesome one…. But I will go through the Do's and don’ts and also give a few tips of mine for first chapters.
I will post the first chapter of my new fiction and of my old fiction to compare how my writing skill has changed, please
be sure to post on which you think is better. I guess they could be used as the example of the average first chapter and the
great first chapter.
Fairly basic first chapter, written when my writing skill was improving….
Chapter
1. Bad Beginning
The sun trickled down on the cold, damp alley of the nearby slum, a cold and motionless body began
to stir, a man arose and hit his head on a nearby pipe, that was hanging low on a nearby roof backed against the alley, the
man began to shift, which turned into a walk, he walked out into the open, temporarily blinded by the sun’s powerful
rays.
He stood motionless before plotting his next move, “I’ll go and get some supplied before nightfall”
he muttered to himself, as he drove his hands into a cardboard box and pulled out his hidden possessions, a flute of great
beauty and a rare jewel studded sword, over custom for a man with soldiers armor like his, he slid his sword into his holster
and walked on for a good ten minutes before turning to a nearby corner shop, “I’ll get some food and drink before
the Lios come at nightfall” he muttered , causing himself to shudder at the sound of his own words. He entered the shop,
trying not to trip the doorbell’s alarm, to no avail, the bell let out a weary screech as the shop keeper turned to
investigate, “You!” he said, pointing to the man, “You are not welcome here… Out, Out!” he screamed. The
man looked at him, donning a frown, “Please, I have money, let me gather some supplies” he pleaded. The shopkeeper
ducked slowly, he re-emerged with a sword, “Out!” he said. The man left the shop, and slumped on a nearby wall,
muttering to himself, “Why Harken? You were so respectable, and now…” he said, “and now you’re
a thief in these parts” and with that he blacked out.
Harken awoke to screams and before he knew it was fleeing
from flames, he stopped as he was approached by a soldier, brandishing a sword and a letter, “Ah it’s you”
the soldier said, dodging the other soldiers, shuffling around him, “I have a letter of re-assignment for you, you are
no longer a disgraced ex-soldier” he said, handing him the letter of re-assignment and rushing off. Harken eyed the
letter, reading it to himself, “Dear Lord Harken, we are pleased to say your past disgraces are now forgotten and you
are to be re-instated as a CK due to the lack of experience the current force possess and the ever growing strength of the
Lios and the ‘Soul Eater’.” Harken stared at it for a few more minutes before rushing towards the city’s
center, “I better get to the headquarters, its about time they let me back as a CK, I should have never been exiled”
he muttered as he rushed into the building that was being used for the headquarters of the ‘Anti-Lios Force’ or
the ‘ALF’ as they were known. Harken rushed through the crowds of soldiers to come face to face with his Commanding
Officer, the same one he has hated for as long as he can be bothered to remember.
Now for the Do’s and Don’ts
of a good first chapter!
DO:
1. Make it descriptive 2. Make it mysterious 3. Introduce the main character 4.
Introduce optionally a side character or two 5. Describe the setting 6. Describe the main character’s situation
i.e. rich, poor, happy, sad(this will help for character evolution throughout the story and also add personality to your character) 7.
Leak a bit of the plot, (it won’t hurt and will give the reader an understanding of current events) 8. Have a character
elaborate on something(It is really optional. But I like this method as it adds light to the character’s situation and
current mood. It also tends to fill that gap between the prologue and the first chapter)
DON’T:
1. Make
it dull and boring 2. Reveal the entire plot 3. Reveal the Villain just yet 4. Not introduce a side character if
there are any 5. Not describe the environment 6. Leave us at a guess at what the main character’s doing 7.
Have the character stand there, make him do something!
Ok now for the better version:

that, unlike a prologue, a first chapter IS essential for a story, so don’t ignore this and please note it is not the
same story as above:
Chapter 1. Terra Exiles
Sweat glided down his forehead, he was about to leave his
home planet, the harsh reality; he may never see it again. Commander J. Gregory, head of the Machea VI. He hadn’t really
wanted the job; he was just the only one fit for the job. He was in a less desirable position than the other commanders, as
at least they would know if their ships would be destroyed upon approaching the Black Hole. The Commander waved his final
goodbyes to his home planet and boarded the ship. The door slammed shut behind him and he could hear the air being compressed
in the chamber he had just come through. Commander Gregory slowly approached the elevator, before him a smiling crew. What
fools they were! He thought. What he knew was that they had been chosen as the test dummies. They would be the first through
the black hole and if they got destroyed then the others would just avoid it and head out to space the conventional way. The
elevator ride seemed to take ages. Maybe it was just his nerves, maybe. The bell rang and he stepped out onto the bridge.
The most intelligent of his crew were here and even they looked scared. They were the only others who had been told of the
trial and error process. The lower class crew members weren’t told in the fear of a mass protest and inevitably, the
delay of the space fleet’s launch. The Commander walked slowly up to the ships second in command, Sergeant Anna Frost,
“Anna” he said casually, as they had met previously on a pre crew party, “How are they taking the pressure?”
he asked calmly. Anna smiled, “Well they’re actually taking it quite poorly” she replied, pointing to
the crew, “If it hadn’t occurred to you, their all knee deep in sweat…” Commander Gregory smiled,
“Just checking you know your stuff” he stated, patting her on the back and heading for his office on the upper
section of the bridge. Anna shook her head and stopped him, “If I know my stuff?” she asked for confirmation. Commander
Gregory smiled and nodded, “Precisely” he replied, “Just making sure you could tell when my crew is nervous.” Anna
shook her head, “Who wouldn’t?” she asked bluntly. The Commander frowned, “What exactly are you
on about?” he asked her. Anna cocked and eyebrow, “I mean how hard can it be to tell if a crew’s nervous?”
she replied, “They’re all sweating and some have got rosary beads out!” she added, frowning, “Why
one man is writing his will…” The Commander was quite taken aback by that comment, she obviously thought him
a nimrod, “And who might that be?” he asked. Anna frowned, “Who might who be?” she replied. The
Commander smiled, “The strange idiot” he replied, “You know the knob head writing his will?” Anna
glared at him, “That knob head would be my younger brother!” she snapped, slapping the commander across the face
and turning to walk away from him. The Commander rubbed his hand over his cheek, it had gone red, “Hey!” he
called out, “Who’s your brother?” he asked her. Anna didn’t bother turning around, “He’s
the ship’s janitor” she replied, “You can’t miss him…” The Commander frowned, “Wait!”
he shouted, “How is it that I can’t miss him?” he asked. Anna turned around and smiled, “Because”
she stated, “The Nimrod of a Commander only hired ONE janitor!” The Commander looked down at the floor, “Oh
****!” he muttered, “I probably should have looked into that detail more aye?” he asked a random crew member.
The crew member nodded in reply, turning back to his work on the ship’s radar.
The music blazed in his ears,
he tapped his feet against the wall that his bunk bed was built into. Suddenly the door to his room slid open, it was only
his sister he thought as Anna walked by. She smiled at him and waved, “Still writing that will?” she teased. He
shook his head, “We Frosts have no reason to write a will” he replied, “I realized that when I was writing
it.” Anna frowned, “Oh?” she replied, hanging up her coat in the closet, “And why is that?”
she asked him. He frowned, “Well I searched like everywhere and the only Frosts actually related to us is well ourselves”
he replied, “And if the ship goes down, then quite frankly we both will.” Anna smiled, “I see your point
Maximus” she replied, frowning at the fact but quickly cheering up as she saw her brother’s face. Maximus was
infuriated, “I told you!” he cried out in frustration, “Call me Max!” he screamed, “Not bloody
Maximus!” Anna chuckled, “Right I got it” she replied, walking out of the room, “Maximus….”
She added just as the door closed. Maximus jumped from his bed on the top bunk and ran towards the door. He heard giggles
from the corridor, but when he ran out into the corridor, there was no sign of his sister.
She paced back and forth,
“What should I put on?” Lieutenant July Chambers asked her two bunks mates. Her two bunk mates were too busy playing
Chess to give a damn on what their vain bunkmate wanted to dress herself in. They were her friends but Rachael Gardner and
Samuel Gardner couldn’t care less about fashion. Rachael was the ships chef and Samuel was the top technician. “Well?”
asked the persistent July. Samuel groaned, “The black dress” he replied, without even looking. In truth he
was attracted to July but at the moment he was playing chess, his favorite pastime and nothing took him away from that. Rachael
chuckled as she looked at the two dresses the aggravated July was holding up. One was red and the other white, not a sign
of black at all. July knew she had a power over Samuel and she decided to use it to get his attention, “Oh Samuel”
she purred. Samuel dropped the king he was holding in his hand and turned to look at July. July smiled, “White or
Red?” she asked him. Samuel sat, transfixed looking at July, “Red” he replied, “Suits you…..”
he added, chuckling. July grinded her teeth together, “What the hell is that supposed to mean?!” she bellowed,
her voice heard throughout the hallway. Before Samuel could respond, Rachael tapped him on the soldier, “You knocked
your king down” she stated. Samuel cocked an eyebrow, “Um… Point being?” he asked her as he was
terribly confused. Rachael smiled, “According to official rules….” She began, “I win, because you
surrendered….” She added, giggling. Samuel groaned, “Why does this happen almost every time we play?”
he asked her. It was true, she thought. Every time they played their seemed to be some kind of distraction in which he would
accidentally surrender. Although on the rare occasion she did have to resort to knocking it over herself why he wasn’t
looking. Truth was she was a good chess player, but he was an almost unbeatable chess player and she only ever one against
him by her cheap tricks and surrenders. Suddenly, Maximus burst into the room, panting. He had been looking for his sister
and had traveled up and down the corridor several times, “Any of you guys seen Rachael?” he asked, between pants. July
shook her head, “No” she replied, “But I need your help with something….” The truth was that
even though Samuel liked her and she used that to get everything, that she liked Maximus and would always ask him to help
her so she could be with him for as long as possible. On the other hand, Rachael also like Maximus and Maximus shared that
attraction. They hadn’t acted on it purely because they were both convinced the other didn’t like them and didn’t
have the guts to try and prove themselves wrong.
Anna walked into the bridge as the doors of the elevator had slid
open. She had dodged her brother by simply walking up one flight of stairs and then safely taking the elevator. A thing her
brother would never had thought of, and at the way he was, never would. She approached Commander Gregory, “Jordan”
she said, “I mean….” She stuttered, “Commander Sir” she added, blushing. Jordan smiled, “I
assume your going to call me Commander for the rest of our lives then?” he asked her, chuckling. Anna blushed, “Well
sir” she replied, “I mean….” Jordan smiled, “Call me Commander or Jordan” he stated,
“Whichever one you think suits the occasion.” Anna smiled, “Yes sir” she replied. The Commander
smiled, “What’s the occasion?” he mocked. Anna playfully punched him on the arm, “Shut up” she
said laughing, stepping on his foot to silence his laughter. Jordan glared at her, she froze, “That’s an act of
mutiny!” he bellowed, “Guards!” he cried, ordering two soldiers two grab her, “Take her away!” Anna
screamed and cried as they dragged her across the floor. Jordan merely cracked up laughing and the guards let Anna go. Anna
stopped wailing to realize the awful trick played on her, “Oh you bloody nimrod!” she cried, running up to the
Commander, “You bloody tricked me you loser!” Jordan smiled, “Yeah, Yeah” he replied, signaling
for a pilot to come over, Anna jumped back as if by reflex. The pilot came over, “Something you need done sir?”
he asked the commander. Jordan nodded, “Yeah actually” he replied, “Get the series X-8900 online and
get this thing into space!” he cried, raising his fist in an act of attempted triumph. The pilot merely shook his head
and returned to his post. He began pressing a variety of buttons and soon the massive blank screen hovering above the screen
was replaced by the head of a man. “X-8900 operational” it stated, its voice human-like. The Commander gawped,
“You can speak like a human X-8900?” he asked. X-8900 nodded, “Yup” he replied, “I’m
the ultimate computer. I’ve got everything a super computer would need, plus a personality chip” he added, “Awesome
isn’t it?” The Commander nodded in approval, “Your one advanced piece of advanced technology X-8900”
he said, smiling. The X-8900 laughed, “Thanks” he replied, “But….. Call me Floyd please”
he added, “X-8900 is just my model, not my name.” The Commander gave Floyd a thumb up, “I got you”
he replied, “Well Floyd, ready to get this thing in the air?” Floyd frowned, “Well sure” he replied,
“But what are they all here for?” he asked, pointing to the pilots and various other crew members. The Commander
smiled, “You’re more of an announcer and a consultant” he replied. “Ace” he replied, “Right
mister commander sir, all aspects of this ship is now operational, do as you wish.” The Commander nodded, “Thanks
a bunch” he replied, “And you count as a high ranking crew member, so call me Jordan ok?” Floyd nodded,
“Nice name” he replied, “Alright let’s get to it…” Jordan nodded, “As you wish”
he said, turning to his crew, “You heard Floyd!” he cried out, “Let’s blow this planet!” Anna
smiled, “Sir Commander Gregory” she replied, ordering around various technicians. The ship roared into life and
various monitoring aspects lit up and became operational on the bridge. The Commander smiled, “Ok” he replied,
“Let’s make history” he added, giving the bridge members a thumbs up, “On my count…. 10, 9,
8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Blast the hell off!” The ship roared as it flung itself from Earth. The crowds below cheered
as Jordan set up a radio link that was broadcast over Earth, “We have liftoff” he stated, “Let’s get
this trip going!” The rest of the fleet took off one by one. This continued until all sixteen were in the air. Jordan
gulped as the Machea VI approached the black hole they were supposed to test, “Alright crew” he said nervously,
“Turn off all the power as we get sucked in, who knows what this thing could do….” He added. The crew all
gulped on the bridge and began to say their prayers. Maximus had told Samuel, July and Rachael so basically now all the lower
class crew knew. July had told them. They all clung to their bunk bed’s sheets and hoped and prayed for the very best…
Hope
that didn’t take you that long to read…
But I feel that the above first chapter was a success. It revealed
not only the basic plot, but the main character(Maximus) and a host of side characters. It also gave an elaboration on people’s
thoughts and all in all did everything I mentioned to do in the above do’s and don’ts.
All in all that
explained a host of information, yet at a low plot leak cost. Now in my own personal opinion that was definitely better and
if you had a first chapter like that, you’d have your readers enjoying your story and wanting more of it… well
that’s my advice for this issue, be sure to recommend something for next issue’s article.

Well quite frankly with this the first issue I might as tell you of some handy threads

Explanations-
Computer slang:
Lol: This is a term that means quite simply put: ‘Laugh out loud’ people will use this
when they want to express laughter at a joke or a comment. Rofl: This is generally the same as ‘lol’. It means
however, ‘Rolling on floor laughing’ some people like to stick a T between the R and O to symbolize ‘the’.
It is usually used when people are in heavy laughter at a really funny joke. Lmao: This is basically the same again: It
means, ‘Laugh my *** off’. WTF: This means ‘What the F*ck’ and is generally used to express a deep
state of confusion at what you have just said or are talking about. ASL: This means, ‘Age, Sex, Language’ now
this isn’t a term generally used on supercheats so you may not need to know this.
Ok, that was all for the first
definitions and explanations article. More next time, either you request them or I pick them… quite frankly you know
what the sane choice is… or don’t you? Ok, pick them yourself and tell me! That’s the sane choice!
ARTICLE:
Ok
welcome to the article section, now I think to get the ball rolling as this is the first issue of my article I should put
forward my views and my handy hints on what makes a good prologue and what makes a reader press the ‘back’ button
before even bothering to read your story.
PROLOGUES:
Now not all people like to have prologues, I use them occasionally,
but I don’t use them all the time, It’s completely up to you, but if you do want a prologue, then hey! You’re
reading the right thing.
There are quite a few ways you could make a prologue, you could make a brief prologue explaining
things like the name of the world and a basic plotline, here’s an example of such: Prologue: The land of Ethane
is torn by the darkness threatening to consume it, for many a millennia it has constantly fought of the foul Lios, beats that
prey on humans and take on the form of your worst fear. The only way to truly destroy the Lios is to kill there leader, the
elusive Soul Eater, unfortunately, few have seen this being and those that have are either incredibly loyal Lios, or now dead.
Now
that was a prologue for my story featured earlier in this article. It’s fairly short and gives a basic description,
that’s basically the simplest way of doing a prologue, bar not actually doing one as well, although you will find that
having prologues helps when you’re thinking of making a new story and you’re unsure of whether you should post
it or not. Post a prologue! It basically explains your story and then see what people think. You don’t have to make
a thread if you don’t feel that people are going to like the prologue. The FF&RP discussion thread can be used to
post prologues and to see what people think before making a thread and then deciding not to continue with the story because
nobody was interested in the prologue.
I’m now going to expand on my earlier prologue and make it longer, trying
to make it better and last but certainly not least, trying to make it more enthralling for those reading it, to make it so
that the reader wants to see the story. Many prologues fail to meet that demand; don’t make your prologue fail like
there’s here’s some do’s and some don’ts of prologue writing:
DO:
1. Make it descriptive 2.
Make it Interesting 3. Include the key storyline 4. Give a name of the location and the era 5. If you wish include
name’s of the main characters 6. If there is one evident from the beginning, include the name of the enemy.
DON’T:
1. Reveal the plotline 2. Give away all the character’s names 3. Speak of what is in the future unless
your story revolves around it 4. Give away all of the information that will be revealed in the first chapter 5. Have
dialogue in your prologue 6. Make it too long; it’s just a prologue after all.
Ok now here is the extended
version of my previous Prologue:
The land of Ethane is torn in two, on one side the normal humans, fighting to save
their land from the foul Lios. Lios; beats that appear at night and kill you, before biting you and making you one of them.
Several millennia ago they first appeared, under the guise of mere men until their deadly secret was revealed and a spell
cast disabling their ability to make their skin fair as it was naturally pale. Many brave warriors fought against the Lios
in an effort to rid the land of Ethane of them but all failed, bar one. One brave warrior braved the fierce Lios and killed
their king, the Lios did not relent however and instead the warrior found them multiplying from a portal that must have lead
to there homeland. The warrior found out that a massive black orb with a strange golden crystal inside that resided on the
former Lios’ King’s throne was powering the portal. The warrior ran for the throne and picked up the orb in the
hopes of smashing it and ending the chaos the Lios had brought about. Unfortunately fate was not that kind and the orb absorbed
the warrior’s soul and what remained was the new leader of the Lios, the one and only; Soul Eater. Now 2000 years have
passed, can one man defeat the Soul Eater and destroy the orb once and for all, only time can tell, that time starts now.
Now
that in my opinion and certainly in any person’s opinion was WAY better than the first, notice how I gave away background
information on the story that took place before the current events, yet I did not reveal much at all of what was to come in
the future, leaving the reader wondering who this man is? What are a Lios? What powers do they have? Will he succeed?
All
in all anyone who can do that should be attracting a fair few readers. Well that’s my advice for this article, be ready
for the next article in which I shall explain how to do other things now that you’ve done your prologue.

and Unbanning: roadkillers was banned for a short time under a misunderstanding, he is now back and continues to be 3rd
in subs :P rs_lord has been unbanned because he is no longer under 13. greenmachinep60 has been banned for bumping old topics
and generall spamming, he was found mostly in the Halo forums.
The banning of 'True Pokemon Master' has caused quite
a stir, one perticular concerened reader wrote to me with this-
Hello people of Supercheats. A true friend is gone
from here and I don't think that it's right. Truepokemonmaster is 11 years of age since last April 14th. He admitted
this before the 31st of December. One of our dear Super Moderators, Cross Stringer, stated that anyone and everyone that
has admitted that they were younger then 13 years of age after the 31st of December were banned. Truepokemonmaster admitted
that he was 11 before the 31st of December, yet he was still banned! I don't think that is right. Richard, please let
TPM back on. I have tried to get your attention, but it never worked. People of Supercheats, please inform Richard (Team SuperCheats)

PS3 NEWS From Playstation Pioneer: 4-7 million PS3s to ship in 2006
Following Sony's unsurprising PlayStation
3 keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show, some pundits prophesized that the console would undergo supply shortages similar
to those Xbox 360 suffered last year. Just yesterday, an analyst at Pacific Crest Securities gave a sunnier estimate, predicting
1 million PS3s would be available for a November launch. By contrast, Microsoft only moved around 326,000 the week after the
Xbox 360 went on sale November 22.
However, Wilson's optimism looks like the Grim Reaper in comparison to Pioneer
executive vice president Andy Parson's belief. Speaking with Web site The Digital Bits, Parsons talked about the Blu-ray disc
format (Pioneer announced several Blu-ray-compatible players at CES) and how the Blu-ray-compatible PlayStation 3 would shape
the success of the format.
"The PS3 is launching right at the forefront of Blu-ray disc," Parsons said. "If Sony ships
the kind of numbers we expect them to this year, that will provide a very rapid growth of players out there hungry for titles.
We've been hearing between 4 and 7 million [PS3s] could ship."
When its Xbox 360 console launched late last year,
Microsoft experienced rampant shortages in the US and Europe. However, it was largely due to supply constraints on some of
the system's internal parts. The company originally targeted 3 million units to be out the door in the console's first 90
days on the market, but adjusted its figures to 4.5 million to 5.5 million consoles shipped by June 2006.
Despite
Sony's previous announcement of a spring 2006 launch for the PS3, a consensus of industry analysts believes that the PS3 won't
ship until later this year in North America, with a possible midyear launch in Japan.
If Sony shipped between 4 million
and 7 million units in less than six months (with the likely scenario of several months in Japan only), the company would
outpace Microsoft's lofty goals. To do that, Sony would need a near-perfect production process unmarred by supply shortages
and hardware issues.
But unless the console has a $699 price tag, there won't be any problem with demand. When Sony
launched its PlayStation 2 in 2000 in Japan, it sold 980,000 units in its first weekend. In its first day in US retail, Sony
moved 510,000 PS2s. To date, the PS2 has sold more than 100 million units.

the PlayStation 3 was announced, industry watchers have been prognosticating its price point. Just over a month after E3 2005,
Merrill Lynch predicted the game would sell for $399, even though it would cost an estimated $494 to make--before labor.
However,
when Microsoft announced the Xbox 360, which uses current-generation DVDs, would sell for $399, many thought the PS3's internal
next-generation Blu-ray disc drive would push its cost higher. That assumption was reinforced at the Consumer Electronics
Show (CES) last week, when the first stand-alone Blu-ray disc player was unveiled--with a $1,800 price tag. (The Xbox 360
uses conventional DVDs, but will get an external drive which supports Blu-ray's rival format, HD-DVD).
In the wake
of CES, CNN/Money correspondent Chris Morris decided to poll a nonscientific sampling of game analysts and developers to see
how much they thought the PS3 will cost. "Several developers I spoke with (under the condition of anonymity) said their studios
were expecting the system to launch at $499," wrote Morris, who included quotes from analysts who concurred with the assessment.
However, Morris said that not all insiders' estimates were the same. Some pegged the console as matching the 360's
$399 price point--which, according to last year's Merrill Lynch report, means Sony could lose more than $1 billion during
the console's first year on the market. Several developers also lowballed the console at $450, while others said it could
cost as much as $699. However, as Sony is staying resolutely mum on the PS3--until GDC 2006, anyway--no price is yet official.
